Visit etherracingleague.comThe team stays as small as each game allows, so the idea a game starts with is the one that ships.
Games are kept small enough to be finished properly, down to the menus. An independent game can look as good as a big one.
Each game gets a strong visual identity, drawn from anime and Japanese pop culture. It should be recognisable from a single screenshot.
Even a racing game gets a cast. Every pilot in Ether Racing League has a name and a face.
Tenrai Works makes games in arcade genres that the big studios have mostly left behind, starting with hover-bike racing.
The studio works in Godot, a free, open-source engine, and builds its own tools for the slow, repetitive parts of making a game. That lets a small team keep up with much larger ones.
Buy a game once and you get all of it: no subscriptions, microtransactions or in-game currencies, and nothing held back to sell later. Ideally, a game you buy should be yours to keep, and a physical edition is a goal for someday.
Every game is made for Mac as well as PC, from day one.
天籟 (tenrai) means “heavenly sound”: the sound of the wind and of nature, and, by extension, great poetry. Many Japanese readers also hear 天雷, “heavenly thunder”.
